Reputation Management
What is Online Reputation Management?
Have you ever seen a company website with poor reviews on it? Probably not, that’s why when searchers are looking to choose a storage facility and they want real world experience they don’t go to the facility’s website they go to Yelp or InsiderPages or one of the many 3rd party websites that allow actual customers to review the facility.
Now have you ever seen a negative review condemning a business on one of these site’s. I can tell you first hand, it puts an immediate barrier up between that company and anyone who reads the review or see’s that 1 star rating. I’ve witnessed this first hand for self storage.
Monitoring your reputation online is crucial and that is what our Reputation Management add-on is all about. Here are just a few of the reasons to consider Reputation Management:
1.) Often we can have negative reviews removed
Now, understand that if it is a legitimate review most 3rd party sites will not remove it. However, if it is inaccurate, or incorrect, or in an extreme case a disgruntled employee then we can petition for a removal.2.) If we can’t remove it, we may be able to turn it into a positive
An example would best demonstrate this: you have an employee that was in all ways sub-standard. Customers complained about them (all the more reason to have a corporate contact form), numbers are down, the place is a mess, you name it. So you’ve done your due dilligance and removed them from their post.Someone creates a poor review on one ore more 3rd party websites about how terrible ‘employeeX’ was. We can then immediately jump on the review, replying as the facility and letting people know we listened to our customers, we heard their complaints, and that employee is no longer employed at our facility. We go on to stress how much customer satisfaction means to us and that if the reviewer would like to contact us we would happily apologize and would like to offer a a gift card for their trouble.
This now turns the complaint into a positive: your company now is portrayed as one that listens to customers and prioritizes them above all else.
3.) It influences Local Search
Search Engines will periodically scan the net for new information to update their local business center which is what populates the Local Search results. If they find a review, good or bad, they’ll add it. Once added, it’s nearly impossible to remove. Google simply doesn’t have the time or desire to remove reviews. Even if the review is removed from the originating 3rd party website it will not be removed from the search engine’s business center. Time is key when it comes to Reputation Management.
Why should I hire a firm to do this, can't I do it myself?
Sure, you can respond to them but can you catch them in time or at all. We have an exhaustive list of current 3rd party sites search engines monitor as well as well numberous applications what once your facility is mentioned either on a 3rd party site or on a social platform such as Twitter we will know about it.
Again, this is our business it’s what we do. Leave it to the professionals.
